Shivam Chopra a 21-year-old boy who purchased more than 166 costly cell phones from Amazon in Delhi and got refunds in lakhs of rupees in the wake of guaranteeing that he had gotten an unfilled box has been caught now reported by the Police.
Reported by police: Shivam Chopra made nearly 50 lakhs from Amazon in 2 months before Amazon understood that they were being deceived by this young boy.
Shivam Chopra had done a course in Hotel Management from an institute in Rohini and had attempted his hand at a few employments. However, he wasn’t great at keeping them and had wound up without a Job. In March this year, he thought of this thought and requested two phones as an experiment. He requested a refund, and got it.
For the following two months, he kept on ordering phones of top brands like Samsung, OnePlus and Apple and later he used to sell these phone on OLX or in gaffar market delhi.

He took help from Sachin Jain a 38 year old man who owns a small telecom store near Shivam’s house who provided more than 140 pre activated sim cards to Shivam and would charge 150 for each sim card. Shivam used these phone numbers to order those phone and used to provide an incorrect address near his locality. The delivery guy used to always call Shivam when he was not able to locate the address provided by Shivam.
Shivam used to guide the delivery boy to somewhere near his current address take the delivery and than later use to call Amazon to complain that the box was empty and use to claim refund.
Police has seized 19 mobile phones, 12 lakhs in cash and 40 bank passbooks and cheques from the home of Shivam. Apart from the money in the bank, he had also kept Rs. 10 lakh kept with someone.
The north-west region police boss said the police could find the young fellow this month following quite a while of examination amid which they limited the territory where he likely lived.
